DNR Conservation Board <br /> Department of Natural Resources <br /> 1313 Sherman Street, Room 718 <br /> Denver, CO 80203 <br /> Memorandum <br /> To: Greg Johnson, Water Supply Planning Section Chief <br /> From: Kevin Reidy Et Ben Wade, Water Supply Planning '`.��� Y <br /> Date: October 11, 2019" <br /> Subject: Water Efficiency Grant Fund Recommendation for the City of Northglenn <br /> Recommendation: <br /> The Water Supply Planning staff recommends that Greg Johnson, Section Chief, <br /> approve a Water Efficiency Grant to update a Water Efficiency Plan in the amount of <br /> $29,975 for the City of Northglenn. <br /> Summary of Grant Application <br /> The City of Northglenn is a covered entity in the South Platte Basin who is currently <br /> updating both its Integrated Water Resources Plan and Water Efficiency Plan to help <br /> the City evaluate the current supply adequacy and collectively develop supply and <br /> demand management solutions to ensure future system reliability. <br /> Northglenn's population is projected to increase by 10% by 2050. The City estimates <br /> water use will increase from 4,335 to 4,900 acre feet per year by 2023. The City has <br /> an estimated water savings goal to lower water demands by 11% over the next 20 years <br /> which translates to be an average of 300 acre-feet per year. <br /> The total cost of the project is $40,040. Northglenn is committing 25% matching funds <br /> in the form of $10,065 of in-kind services. CWCB staff has reviewed and evaluated the <br /> grant application and has determined that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB <br /> guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
