COLORADO <br /> Colorado Water <br /> Conservation Board <br /> Department of Natural Resources <br /> 1313 Sherman Street, Room 718 <br /> Denver, CO 80203 <br /> Memorandum <br /> To: Rebecca Mitchell, Water Supply Planning Section Chief <br /> From: Kevin Reidy Et Ben Wade <br /> Water Supply Planning <br /> Date: April 7, 2017 <br /> Subject: Water Efficiency Grant Fund Recommendation for the Community Office for Resource <br /> Efficiency <br /> Recommendation: <br /> The Water Supply Planning staff recommends that Rebecca Mitchell, Section Chief, <br /> approve a Water Efficiency Grant to fund Water Efficiency and Conservation Public <br /> Outreach a Educational program in the amount of $7,700 for the Community Office for <br /> Resource Efficiency (CORE). <br /> Summary of Grant Application <br /> CORE is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that focuses on water and energy <br /> conservation in the Roaring Fork watershed. CORE was a key stakeholder in the <br /> development of the Roaring Fork Watershed Regional Water Efficiency Plan. <br /> CORE is seeking funding to continue their "High Five" marketing Et outreach program <br /> to save water and energy that will extend from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. Their <br /> marketing strategy includes reaching their audience through social media, radio, <br /> digital and print media. CORE also plans to team up with the Roaring Fork Conservancy <br /> to hold a weekend workshop teaching homeowners how to make and use their own <br /> rain barrel. Rain barrel education and outreach will give CORE the opportunity to <br /> emphasize efficient ways to water gardens Et encourage residents to use water that is <br /> not treated, on their outdoor irrigation. <br /> The total cost of the project is $100, 773.50. CORE is committing 92% matching funds <br /> including $93,073.50 in cash. CWCB staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant <br /> application and has determined that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB <br /> guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
