SAN LUIS VALLEY IRRIGATION DISTRICT
P. 0.Box 637 296 Miles Street
Center,Colorado 81125-0637
719-754-2254
July 31,2017
Kirk Russell
Finance Director
Colorado Water Conservation Board
Dear Kirk,
The Rio Grande Cooperative Project has been in progress since 201Z addressing the re-
habilitation of Rio Grande Reservoir. One of the major components of the project was
completing a land exchange with the U.S. Forest Service involving a small parcel of land
just below the existing outlet tunnel of Rio Grande Reservoir. The proposed land ex-
change began in the fall of 2012 and a contract between Colorado Water Conservation
Board and the San Luis Valley Irrigation District was executed in 2013. The Contract
and Scope of Work included assistance from Western Land Group, Inc. to facilitate the
proposed land exchange. 1 am pleased to inform you that the land exchange is now
complete!
The District respectfully requests that Contract#C154223, CMS#53361 be closed out
and the remaining prods be made available for the next phase of the Rio Grande Coop-
erative Project.
The District is verygrateful for the assistance and guidance the CWCB has provided to
make the Rio Grande Cooperative Project a success.
With Reggrds,,
1--- 1"Z-,f-1 Z__/_
Travis Smit
Superintendent
