The 120,000 <br /> acre foot Lake Nighthorse is for the following purpose, "to implement the <br /> Settlement Act by providing the Ute Tribes an assured long term water supply and <br /> water acquisition fund in order to satisfy the tribes' senior water right claims as <br /> quantified in the Settlement Act, and to provide for M and I water needs in the <br /> project area." Construction officially ended in March 2013 and the project status <br /> was changed to maintenance. Currently, the Bureau of Reclamation and the City <br /> of Durango are working on a recreation plan. <br /> 55 <br />
