Since 1992 the <br /> neighborhood, like the region, has enjoyed substantial growth. <br /> The neighborhood of Subject is convenient for traffic coming from the south. <br /> It had a 2013 traffic count of 25,000 on the south to 32,000 on the north. It has <br /> experienced more rapid development than the other two commercial <br /> neighborhoods because of its convenient location and because it is the only <br /> neighborhood with room for expansion. Between 1990 and 1994, five new <br /> buildings were built. Since 1995, the neighborhood has mushroomed with the <br /> construction of numerous industrial and office buildings in Bodo Park as well as: <br /> • Escalante Middle School <br /> • the Trans-Lux Cinema near the Durango Mall <br /> • New County Auto Dealership <br /> • Texaco with car wash <br /> • Medical office complex near Wal-Mart <br /> • Quality Inn Motel <br /> • the Walmart Superstore and strip retail center <br /> • Home Depot <br /> • Escalante Crossings residential development <br /> • Discount Tire and Vectra Bank in the Walmart shopping center <br /> • Three strip retail and office centers <br /> • Homewood Suites by Hilton <br /> • 80,000 square foot Mercury Village office <br /> • A hotel is under construction on Comparable Sale 3 <br /> The construction of the Walmart Superstore in 1997 was the impetus for <br /> major change in the southern part of this neighborhood. The Walmart store is a <br /> major traffic draw and has drawn commercial development to surround it.
