Differing views to be respected. Seek to eliminate posturing. One key to avoid <br /> polarization: need very clear strategy to seek to avoid the community process bogging down in <br /> "like" and "not like" opinions rather than comments based on common understanding of the <br /> facts. <br /> 2. Rationalize Committee Sweep process into Community Process. <br /> 3. How use "wasted" first meeting(s)? Understand that initial community meetings <br /> may not be too productive in terms of substantive output,but important for process development. <br /> Use first meetings for Steering Committee to present bigger picture. <br /> 4. Options for value protection to be generated in response to open and complete <br /> disclosure of values, current protections, conflicts and trade offs. <br /> 5. Responsible web site to be established to provide easy to read,up-to-date, factual <br /> information. <br /> 6. Flexibility must be maintained. <br /> 7. Budget needs to be adopted and funding secured well in advance of need for <br /> carrying out the community process. (Need to evaluate the extent to which current funding will <br /> 5 <br />
