Task 9: Continue to work with the RPW to develop project work plans and <br /> goals, and secure project funding. <br /> * The RPW Steering Committee is making plans to fund Phase II, the <br /> Regional Discussion. The current budget for the Regional Discussion is <br /> projected to be $38,000 (draft figure as of 9/11/12). <br /> Task 10: Make presentations and meet with external groups as requested. <br /> Meet all deadlines as negotiated with the RPW. <br /> * A presentation was made this year to the CWCB at its board meeting in <br /> Denver in February, 2012. Also, the River Protection Workgroup project <br /> presented at the Durango Arts Center's series on water in the west. And, <br /> last October, the RPW was a topic at the annual Water 101 Workshop put <br /> on by the Southwestern Water Conservation District. <br /> ******************************************************************************************** <br /> The River Protection Workgroup <br /> Regional Discussion <br /> The Regional Discussion will: <br /> • draw on the work done by the local Public Workgroups and develop, if <br /> possible, a consensus approach(es) to the protection of rivers and river <br /> segments in the region while allowing water development to continue; <br /> • honor and include the discussions, recommendations and conclusions of <br /> the 5 local River Protection Workgroups; <br /> • be an inclusive process where the local Public Workgroups will remain <br /> informed and involved; <br /> • involve the RPW Steering Committee looking carefully at the work done <br /> by the five local Workgroups to see if there are any potential next steps <br /> and ideas that could be explored across the five basins; <br /> • be based on the river-specific Workgroups: their consensus <br /> recommendations; their issues and concerns; their ideas; and <br /> • be considered Phase II of the RPW effort, with a target date for completion <br /> of summer 2014. <br /> 5 <br />
