2,000 acres split between the northern and southern boundaries, per the <br /> Workgroup's recommendation. <br /> Hermosa Creek Wilderness Area: The remaining 35% (37,236 acres) of the <br /> SMA, encompassing the western 1/3 of the watershed, will be designated <br /> as wilderness to be managed in accordance with the Wilderness Act of <br /> 1964. Hunting, fishing and all non-motorized and non-mechanized <br /> recreation is allowed in Wilderness. No new roads or development are <br /> allowed in wilderness areas. In accordance with the Workgroup <br /> recommendations, special water rights language has been inserted into <br /> the wilderness section of the bill to respect Colorado's unique water law. <br /> Task 5: Carry out other duties related to the Public Workgroups Project <br /> such as phone calls, emailing, other meetings, report writing, producing <br /> financial reports, etc. <br /> • All of these items are handled by Marsha Porter-Norton, project <br /> coordinator and facilitator for three of the Workgroups, and by Kathy <br /> Sherer, project assistant. The Web site keeps all interested persons up to <br /> date on RPW Workgroup proceedings. <br /> Task 6: Conduct meeting preparation and facilitation for the RPW Steering <br /> Committee's monthly meeting and take meeting notes at each meeting. <br /> • The RPW has continued to meet monthly. Meeting notes are kept from <br /> each meeting. <br /> Task 7: Coordinate with other contractors as necessary. <br /> • The contractors involved in the project are Marsha Porter-Norton (who <br /> subcontracts with Kathy Sherer); Ann Oliver(research and data <br /> gathering); Tami Graham (facilitation and meeting recording); and Jim <br /> Mimiaga (meeting recording). <br /> Task 8: Work with a Project Assistant and others to handle all tasks for <br /> meetings such as: logistics; sending press releases and PSAs; <br /> correspondence with Public Workgroups' members; noticing meetings; <br /> keeping the Web site, email tree and roster updated; and producing <br /> detailed meeting materials and handouts. <br /> Up-to-date rosters are kept for all the Workgroups and each meeting is <br /> noticed in area newspapers via the email tree and Web site and via area <br /> radio. Detailed meeting summaries are produced at each Workgroup <br /> meeting and later approved and placed on the Web site. <br /> 4 <br />
