<br /> R E S O L U T I O N
<br /> WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled
<br /> "Floodplain Information, Lower St. Vrain Creek, Volume III, "
<br /> dated June, 1972, prepared by the United States Army Corps of
<br /> Engineers, Omaha District, was designated and approved by the
<br /> Colorado Water Conservation Board by Resolution No. 24, adopted
<br /> July 11 , 1973, as requested by the City of Longmont and the Board
<br /> of County Commissioners of Boulder County; and
<br /> WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
<br /> Insurance Study, City of Longmont, Boulder County, " dated
<br /> September, 1977, prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc. , under
<br /> contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, was
<br /> designated and approved by the Colorado Water Conservation Board
<br /> by Resolution No. 77, adopted July 27, 1977, as requested by the
<br /> City of Longmont and the Board of County Commissioners of Boulder
<br /> County; and
<br /> WHEREAS, on August 1 , 1983, the Federal Emergency Management
<br /> • Agency revised certain floodplain maps in their report entitled
<br /> "Flood Insurance- Study, City of Longmont, Boulder County, " dated
<br /> January, 1977; and
<br /> WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Control and Floodplain
<br /> Management Plan for St. Vrain Creek at Longmont, Colorado, " dated
<br /> April, 1981, has been prepared by Water Resources Consultants ,
<br /> Inc . , under contract to the City of Longmont, Boulder County, and
<br /> the Colorado Water Conservation Board for the portion -. of St.
<br /> Vrain Creek beginning at the centerline crossing of North 119th
<br /> Street, thence extending upstream to the centerline crossing of
<br /> North 85th Street; and
<br /> WHEREAS, said new report describes and outlines the
<br /> floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater
<br /> runoff channels or basins of the study area; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Longmont and the Board of County
<br /> Commissioners of Boulder County have requested the Colorado Water
<br /> Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas
<br /> as set forth in the aforesaid new report; and
<br /> WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106( 1 ) , Colorado Revised Statutes
<br /> 1973 , requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
<br /> the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and
