FPR 229 <br /> COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br /> 823 State Centennial Building <br /> 1313 Sherman Street <br /> Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> • <br /> March 15 , 1984 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N <br /> WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled <br /> "Floodplain Information Report, Northeast Canon Drainage Area, " <br /> dated October, 1981, prepared by Great Western Divide Engineering <br /> & Surveying, has been designated and approved by the Colorado <br /> Water Conservation Board by Resolution No. 185, adopted February <br /> 5, 1982, as requested by the City of Canon City; and <br /> -WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled <br /> "Floodplain Information Report, Arkansas River, Fremont County, <br /> Colorado, " dated June, 1982, prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee, <br /> has been designated and approved by the Colorado Water <br /> Conservation Board by Resolution No. 189, adopted April 1 , 1982, <br /> as requested by the City of Canon City; and <br /> WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, City <br /> of Canon City, Fremont County, " dated May 3 , 1982, has been <br /> prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee under contract with the Federal <br /> Emergency Management Agency, which includes aforesaid floodplain <br /> information listed in Resolution Nos . 185 and 189 for those <br /> stream reaches within the corporate limits of the City of Canon <br /> City and new floodplain information and data for Southeast Canon <br /> Drainage, Forked Gulch, West Forked Gulch, and Sand Creek; and <br /> WHEREAS, said new report describes and outlines the <br /> floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater <br /> runoff channels or basins of the study area; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Canon City has requested the Colorado <br /> Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br /> areas as set forth in the aforesaid new report; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106( 1 ) , Colorado Revised Statutes <br /> 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br /> the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br /> Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br /> jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br /> 128 <br /> res/229 <br />
