No. 150 <br /> COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br /> 823 State Centennial Building <br /> 1313 Sherman Street <br /> Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> January 30, 1980 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N <br /> WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br /> Hazard Area Delineation, Direct Flow Area 0054, " dated October, <br /> 1979, has been prepared by Merrick and Company at the request of <br /> the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, Adams County, and <br /> the City of Thornton; and <br /> WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br /> data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br /> or basins of the study area; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District <br /> has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br /> and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid <br /> report; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (1) , Colorado Revised Statutes <br /> 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br /> the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br /> Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris- <br /> dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along <br /> any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designa- <br /> tion and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (1) (c) , Colorado Revised Statutes <br /> 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br /> and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br /> make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br /> jurisdictions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br /> and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br /> that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br /> areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br /> as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br /> said report; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br /> Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, <br /> this 30th day of January, 1980, that it does hereby designate and <br /> approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inun- <br /> dated by a 100-year flood as set forth in said report; and <br />
