No. 153 <br /> COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br /> 823 State Centennial Building <br /> 1313 Sherman Street <br /> Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> January 30, 1980 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N <br /> WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Adams <br /> County, Colorado, Unincorporated Areas, " which includes floodplain <br /> information and data for the South Platte River, Big Dry Creek, <br /> Little Dry Creek, Little Comanche Creek, Comanche Creek, Box Elder <br /> Creek, Niver Creek, and Northfield Creek, dated August, 1978, has <br /> been prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc. , under contract with the <br /> Federal Insurance Administration; and <br /> WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br /> data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br /> or basins of the study area; and <br /> WHEREAS, floodplain information and data have been adopted <br /> by resolution for the South Platte River dated November 15, 1977; <br /> Big Dry Creek dated July 11, 1973; Little Dry Creek dated November 1, <br /> 1978; and Niver Creek dated July 21, 1974; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Adams County <br /> has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br /> approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (1) , Colorado Revised Statutes <br /> 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br /> the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br /> Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br /> jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br /> along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br /> designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (1) (c) , Colorado Revised Statutes <br /> 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br /> approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br /> such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdic- <br /> tions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br /> and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br /> that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br /> areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br /> AA <br />
