R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has
previously completed a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study,
City of Boulder, Colorado, " which includes floodplain information
and data for Boulder Creek, dated January, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested
by the City of Boulder, by resolution adopted July 11 , 1978,
approved and designated the floodplains described in said report;
and
WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Hazard Area
Delineation, Boulder Creek, " dated January, 1983, has been
prepared by Muller Engineering Company, Inc . , at the request of
the City of Boulder and the Urban Drainage and Flood Control
District; and
WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels
or basins of the study area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Boulder and the Urban Drainage and
Flood Control District have requested the Colorado Water
Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas
as set forth in the aforesaid report; and
WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106( 1 ) , Colorado Revised Statutes
1973 , requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and
WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973 , provide that such legislative bodies of local
jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or
along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after
designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation
Board; and
