m
V
0
0
C')
O
23
m
the seoretary to place upon the record as a basis for ensuing
discussion the tentative draft of the Arkansas River Compact
(revised September 17, 1948).
(Discussion off the record. )
CHAIRMAN KRAM.ER: Now, do we all have before us the
document? The letter of transmittal is not part of the
document as far as this commission is concerned. The docu-
ment consists of fifteen pages, *Draft of Arkansas River
Compact (revised September 17, 1948) ".
Is there any objection now to placing this document
upon the record for the purpose of reference in ensuing
discussion? If not, it will be so placed upon the record.
By gray of a general introduction to our task here in
this seesion= Our review work falls into two categories.
It is questionable just how we should proceed. There are
certain refinements in spelling, and punctuation, that are
more or lees automatic, that I am sure we will pick up as
we go through. Then there are other types of corrections or
revisions to be considered, which relate somewhat to substance
and are the outgrowth of comments of interested Federal
agencies. You all have a copy of the letter from the Chief
of Engineers, and as I have indicated I hope to have copies
of the letter from the Bureau of Reclamation in your hands
