•
m
0
0
C
C-)
13
M.
in Table 15 of the first interim report of the committee on
engineering data, dated June 26, 1947. This also coy- o
ers the situation as to accumulation of silt in Caddoa
Reservoir sinoe the survey fixing the initial areas and
capacities of John PGartin Reservoir, the tabulation trans-
mitted to the engineering committee by letter on August 8,
1944.
At elevation 3,770, which is an even numbered elevation,
approximately two feet above the center of the outlet gates,
the initial surveys of the area of the reservoir at that
elevation was given as 710 acres, and in the survey of
October 19, 1948, that is in Table 15 of the committee' s
interim report, it is given as 542 acres, a loss in area
of 168 acres at that elevation. The initial capacity at
that elevation was given as 3,766 acre feet, and is now
542 acre feet, a loss in capacity at that elevation of
3,753 sore feet.
I have then taken another elevation, 3,861 feet, which
is on top of the conservation pool. The initial area in
acres was 11,890. I was somewhat surprised to note in this
new survey, Mr. Chairman, that the area at that elevation is
now given as 12,194, a gain in surface area of 204 acres.
Now, whether that represents a widening of the surface area
by wave action, which might be possible, I do not know.
