Will you do the honors, Mr. Mitchell, as the re-
tiring Attorney :re:ye m
MR. MITCHELL: I know he is acquainted with all the j
Kansas members. I believe he has met the Chairman of the
Colorado Commission, Mr. Vidal. Mr. Ireland. I don' t know
whether he has met Mr. Mendenhall or not, and I think Mr.
Patterson this morning has been on the Commission, at least
at the present time.
It is a pleasure to me to introduce my successor in
office. I know you will find him capable and probably more
competent, by reason of lesser years, than his predecessor.
CHAIRMAN KRAMER: I take it that the Kansas statutes
automatically provide that the Attorney General is officially
to be a member and a Commissioner?
MR. MITCHELL: That is correct.
MR. ARN : They do, General, and then in addition to
that, I believe our statute provides that the Attorney General
shall be appointed by the Governor. In that connection I
received here a few days ago a specific formal appointment
in that capacity from our new Governor Carlson as a member
of this Commission, which you may want to make some record
of.
