The flow regime for the lower Structures at the Durango Boating Park.
Flow Rates
These flow regimes were created based on a variety of variables. Some of the variables
considered in this analysis include:
9 -Mar
• Available flows: The flows selected were chosen such that ample flow could be
available for other users and such that minimum flow would be provided for the
intended purposes listed in Tables 1 and 2.
• Dimensions: The flows selected were, in part, dependent on the aspect ratio of the
existing streambed and its ability to confine the river into a concentrated channel
without creating a flood risk and without negatively impacting the river and its
habitat.
• Usage: The flows selected were chosen such that, subject to the dimensional
requirements listed above, the park could provide for the minimum flows necessary
to provide for the City's intended usage. This included minimum flows to provide
for a marquis event, minimum flows to provide an attraction for users before and
37
