41111 Exhibit A <br /> Statement of Work <br /> WATER ACTIVITY NAME— Gore Canyon Whitewater Park at Pumphouse <br /> GRANT RECIPIENT— Grand County <br /> FUNDING SOURCE— WSRA Colorado Basin Account and Statewide Account <br /> INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND <br /> The construction of the Gore Canyon Whitewater Park at Pumphouse on the Upper Colorado River in <br /> Grand County will protect the important Non-Consumptive recreational uses of the Colorado River with <br /> an associated recreational water right. <br /> The Gore Canyon Whitewater Park is one small but critically important part of the multi-purpose <br /> Colorado River Cooperative Agreement between Grand County, Denver Water and about 30+west <br /> slope water providers and organizations. This multi-purpose water agreement was touted by Governor <br /> Hickenlooper as"a new way of doing business in Colorado." <br /> As part of this agreement, Grand County is building a whitewater park on the Colorado River below <br /> Gore Canyon. These grant funds will be used to construct the structures at Pumphouse. This includes <br /> heavy construction in the river,bank work and re-vegetation associated with the development of the <br /> structures that create the waves other hydraulic features of the park. <br /> This `park and play' Whitewater Park is in an existing BLM recreational site and will provide safe and <br /> easy access for play boating between the challenging Class IV section of Gore Canyon and the family <br /> friendly Class II/III section from Pumphouse to State Bridge. <br /> 410 <br /> OBJECTIVES <br /> The objective of the project is to take all steps necessary to complete the construction the structures in <br /> accordance with the designs submitted as part of the Recreational In-Channel Design(RICD)so that the <br /> Gore Canyon Whitewater Park at Pumphouse will perform as described and fill the Non-Consumptive <br /> recreational needs of the Upper Colorado River. <br /> TASKS <br /> TASK 1—Final Design/Saecifications/Prenaration of Bid Documents <br /> Description of Task: <br /> Grand County will contract with the professional river engineering firm of RiverRestoration.org to <br /> prepare the final design and specification documents that will be used in preparation of the Construction <br /> Bid Documents. <br /> Method/Procedure: <br /> Grand County will contract with the Engineering firm to perform these services. <br /> Deliverable: <br /> Final Design Documents prepared by P.E.,Engineering Specifications and Bid Packet. <br /> • <br /> 1 <br />
