(Please include county, and approximate distance <br /> and direction from nearest town, as well as legal description): This is a statewide program <br /> affecting numerous counties, cities, and towns throughout Colorado. <br /> S <br /> 4. Please provide a brief narrative description of the proposed project or study including <br /> purpose,need, facilities, and service area: This request is for a non-reimbursable <br /> investment from the Construction Fund to refresh the CWCB's Floodplain Map <br /> Modernization fund. The original investment in the 2003 Construction Fund Bill was <br /> $500,000 and these dollars are used to leverage against federal grant dollars and local <br /> matching dollars for Map Modernization activities in Colorado. Thus far in 2003,the <br /> CWCB has encumbered/pledged approximately$190,000 for new floodplain maps in <br /> Denver,Douglas,Boulder, and Larimer(pending) Counties and the City of Boulder. FEMA <br /> has granted over$1 million so Colorado this year, and we anticipate a moderate chance of <br /> additional funding before October 1,2003, and an excellent chance of substantial funding <br /> (possibly$1 million or more)in early 2004. This request includes a transfer of$25,000 <br /> from a staff requested deauthorization of an existing grant. <br /> Please explain why you are requesting a non-reimbursable, instead of a loan.
