3. General location of the project or study. (Please include county, and approximate distance
and direction from nearest town, as well as legal description): This is a statewide program
IDaffecting numerous counties, cities,and towns throughout Colorado.
4. Please provide a brief narrative description of the proposed project or study including
purpose,need,facilities, and service area: This request is for a non-reimbursable
investment from the Construction Fund to refresh the CWCB's Stream Restoration and
Flood Mitigation Program. These dollars are used to perform studies initiated by the
CWCB and studies initiated by others where CWCB dollars can be leveraged against
federal grant dollars and local matching dollars for Stream Restoration and Flood Mitigation
activities in Colorado. Examples of recent studies/projects include Alamosa River
restoration,Fountain Creek watershed,and Rio Grande headwaters restoration, There has
been a significant amount of interest and support for these types of activities that the CWCB
has been involved with.
Please explain why you are requesting a non-reimbursable, instead of a loan. (The Construction
Fund exists primarily to provide low interest loans for the construction or rehabilitation of
Raw Water Projects. Non-reimbursable Investments are approved only when the project or
