Copies of official federal and state drought declarations for the affected counties
(Bent, Crowley, Pueblo, Prowers, and Otero Counties) were provided with the
LAVWCD's 2005 application, which we assume you have in your files. These
declarations cover the Lower Arkansas River for the period 2000 to 2004,the period
during which Colorado incurred its current delivery obligation to Kansas.
5. The LAVWCD will provide a line-item budget showing all projected and actual
expenditures, including in-kind support, with its final 2006 agricultural emergency
drought grant application.
6. The LAVWCD will provide a copy of its current annual budget, annual report and
financial statement with its final 2006 Agricultural Emergency Drought Grant
Application.
The LAVWCD is a political subdivision of the State of Colorado, organized in 2002
pursuant to article 45 of title 37, Colorado Revised Statutes.Findings and Decree,
Case No. 02CV793 (Pueblo County District Court, 2002). The LAVWCD will
provide a list of its current Board of Directors with its final 2006 Agricultural
Emergency Drought Grant Application.
The LAVWCD was established"for the purposes of conservation of the water
resources within the District, [and] for their greatest beneficial use. . ." The LAVWCD requests this grant in order to further
the conservation and beneficial use of water within the Lower Arkansas Basin.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Pe 1.r D.Nichols
for
Trout, Raley,Montano,
Witwer&Freeman, P.C.
Cc: Russell George,Esq.
Don Ament
Hal Simpson, P.E.
Steve Witte,P.E.
• R.
