a
t
1110 ,
eb
September 5, 2007
Ms. Linda Bassi
Colorado Water Conservation Board
1313 Sherman Street,Room#721
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Grant Application by Boulder County Parks and Open Space on behalf of the Saint Vrain
Creek Corridor Committee
Dear Ms. Bassi,
I would like to express the support of both the Saint Vrain Creek Corridor Committee and the
City of Longmont for the grant application submitted by Boulder County. The county is acting
on behalf of all members of the Saint Vrain Creek Corridor Committee to help realize the
committee's goal of improving the aquatic environment on the Saint Vrain Creek. There are
• many members of the Saint Vrain Creek Corridor Committee that, since the early 1990's, have
shown long term interest in improving the aquatic environment of the Saint Vrain Creek. This
grant application would greatly assist in this goal.
Please note the unique aspect of this current phase of this project. The committee has been able
to craft a project that will improve the aquatic environment of the creek while losing no water to
the basins water supply. The committee believes this unique solution can be a model of unified
operations that includes environmental protections while ultimately protecting the use of the
water resource for beneficial use.
Your favorable consideration of this grant application would be appreciated. Please let us know
if there is any additional information the City of Longmont or the Corridor Committee can
provide for your consideration.
Sincerely,
City of Longmont
4044
Ken S. Huson, P.E.
Water Resources Administrator
•
