Provide a brief description of your organization below: <br /> The Flood Protection Program, one of five work sections of the CWCB, has evolved over time <br /> and expanded its operations to include numerous flood-related activities that assist in the <br /> prevention of loss of life and damage to property caused by flooding events. The CWCB is <br /> authorized by Statute to perform such activities. <br /> Part B.-Description of the Project or Study <br /> 1. Name of the study or project: Flood Response Fund <br /> 2. What is the purpose of this grant application? Check one. <br /> XX Study <br /> Demonstration project. This request is to request a continuation the existing Flood Response <br /> Fund up to$300,000 to continue to provide services related to the <br /> Rehabilitation or program.This program is currently authorized in C.R.S.37-60-123.2 <br /> replacement of existing <br /> and provides valuable technical services related to flood <br /> Other(Please describe) documentation,flood and weather forecasting, floodplain map <br /> evaluation, aerial photograpy,and related activities. <br /> 3. General location of the study or demonstration project. (Please include county, and approximate distance <br /> and direction from the nearest town): <br /> Funds from this project would be used statewide in areas where flood events occur or where <br /> mapping/hazard mitigation needs of high priority are identified. Priorities will generally be <br /> correlated with local request and contribution and community need. Statewide flood and weather <br /> forecasting will be provided with a presentation to the Board regarding the long-term outlook. <br /> 4. Please provide a brief narrative description of the proposed study or demonstration project including <br /> purpose,need, and service area. (Attach scope of study, if available) <br /> Provide engineering, meteorological, and other technical services related to the 5 major <br /> elements of the Flood Response Fund.
