acquisition of appropriate data needed to support that system, by the 1997
legislative session.

Objective Floodplain Designation: To formally approve and designate all identified
floodplains by December 1997.
Objective Comprehensively Expand Uses of Designated Floodplains: To develop a
comprehensive, multi-objective program to explore opportunities for
recognizing and securing mitigation credit for the natural and beneficial
uses of floodplains by integrating wetland mitigation, wildlife
enhancement, recreation and habitat preservation within the CWCB's
designated floodplains while protecting floodplains as well as utilizing all
