•
Water Supply Reserve Account—Grant Application Form
Form Revised May 2007
E. Last, we are working on the possibility that Ducks Unlimited could itself provide some matching
funds. Dt 1 may be able to provide additional matching dollars front other sources it may he able to
assemble, in exchange for some share of recharge credits yielded by the project. This possibility is
dependent upon several variables that can he resolved while this grant request is being processed. If
successful. these funds would also be used to replace a portion of this grant requested from the Statewide
Account. This is why we are initially asking liar"up to$850,000" front the Statewide Account.
F. We realize that there are several funding contingencies that will he worked out while this grant request is
being processed over the coming months. We think that this kind of creative and cooperative effort to enlist a
broad base of funding support is one of the goals of the WSRA Grant Program.and even though we do not
know at this time exactly which ones will be successful and in what amounts, we think that this request can be
approved with a framework that will allow us to work out these contingencies in a time frame to move this
entire project forward expeditiously.with the goal of beginning construction in the second halfof 2009.
G. The bottom line is that this is a"wet water project-that can generate 2,000-2.500 acre feet of yield and
be constructed within the next 12-18 months. The Applicants are serious about providing 50%of the funding
themselves, hopefully financed through the C'WCl3 loans. Ducks Unlimited has a strong track record of putting
together other grants and funding sources for this kind of project. With the assistance of the South Platte
Roundtable and the CWCl3 through both the WSRA Grant Program and the construction fund, this project will
be built and will he successful.
The above statements arc true to the best of my knowledge:
Signature of Applicant:
Print Applicant's Name:
Project Title:
Return this application to:
Mr. Rick Brown
Intrastate Water Management and Development Section
COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD
1580 Logan Street, Suite 600
Denver.
