Each customer having boilers and/or other appliances on their premises dependent upon <br /> water pressure or water in pipes or a continuous supply of water shall provide at their <br /> own expense suitable safety devices to protect themselves and their property against <br /> stoppage of water supply, loss of pressure, or excess pressure. <br /> 3.8 ACCEPTANCE. By receiving water service, a Company customer shall be deemed to <br /> have agreed to comply with these Rules and Regulations, as amended from time to time <br /> by explicit modification or by the adoption of superseding policies or decisions of the <br /> Commission. <br /> ARTICLE IV. UNAUTHORIZED USE OF THE WATER SYSTEM <br /> 4.1 UNAUTHORIZED TAMPERING WITH THE SYSTEM. <br /> 4.1.1 No person shall uncover, use, alter, disturb, or make any connection with or <br /> opening into any Company water main or appurtenance without first obtaining a <br /> written permit from the Company. <br /> 4.1.2 No person shall maliciously or willfully break, damage, destroy, uncover, deface <br /> or tamper with any portion of the Company's system. <br /> 4.1.3 Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall be charged with a <br /> misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined an amount established by <br /> the court and/or shall be assessed a fee by the Company in the amount of the <br /> actual costs, attorneys' fees and incidental or consequential damage. <br /> 4.2 UNAUTHORIZED EQUIPMENT POSSESSION. It is unlawful for any unauthorized <br /> person to have in his or her possession a hydrant wrench or a valve shut-off key. Police <br /> officers and all personnel of the Company are authorized to confiscate any hydrant <br /> wrench or valve shut-off key found in the possession of an unauthorized person. <br /> 4.3 UNAUTHORIZED CONNECTIONS. The Company required that an <br /> unauthorized connection fee, equal to twice the normal tap fee due, be paid by any person <br /> tapping onto the Company's lines without prior payment of all required tap fees, approval <br /> of a valid water service contract or adequate Company inspection of customer installed <br /> lines. <br /> 4.4 UNAUTHORIZED USE OF SERVICE LINE. The customer shall not connect his <br /> service line to any water source other than Company facilities, including wells. Upon <br /> receiving notification from proper authority of an unauthorized connection, the Company <br /> shall immediately discontinue the customer's water service. If the customer wishes to <br /> continue receive water service, they must reapply as a new customer following the <br /> procedures in Article X. <br /> 5 <br />
