WATER RIGHTS
PRID's main water right is for Vallecito Reservoir decreed for 129,674 acre-feet with a 1966
adjudication date and a 1935 appropriation date. The purposes of the water rights include
"irrigation, domestic, stock water, and other beneficial purposes". The PRID also has 12 water
rights that were originally for the irrigation ditches in the reservoir which have been converted to
reservoir storage; the ditches total 44.875 cfs. A copy of the reservoir decree is included in
Appendix B.
TOTAL PROJECT COST ESTIMATE
The selected plan is estimated to cost a total of about $11,569,081, a breakdown of the cost
estimate by length of pipe and unit cost is included in Appendix C. The total amount will vary
somewhat depending on the number of taps fees collected prior to construction. The cost
estimates are good as of January, 1999.
The following table summarizes the sources of funds for the project. As can be seen the
$300,000 requested from the CWCB is a small, but important part of the overall funding plan. In
fact, the $300,000 from CWCB would be the final piece of the funding plan, no other funds
would be necessary except collection of tap fees immediately prior to construction.
