YAMPA DETAILED STUDY MOU <br /> February 22 , 1993 <br /> Page 2 <br /> River Basin for the benefit of the endangered Colorado River fish. <br /> The elements of the recommended alternative are: <br /> ► An enlargement of the existing Elkhead Reservoir from <br /> 13 , 700 af to approximately 46, 500 af, utilizing a portion <br /> of the 1954 Juniper Decree. Water from the enlargement <br /> pool in Elkhead Reservoir would be available for new <br /> water demands, an exercise of the Juniper decree <br /> subordinations, recreation and, possibly, hydropower and <br /> releases for augmentation of river flows for the benefit <br /> of the endangered fish. <br /> ► Utilizing a portion of the 1954 Juniper Decree at <br /> Stagecoach Reservoir for a future enlargement of <br /> Stagecoach Reservoir from 33 , 275 af to approximately <br /> 52 , 000 af. This enlargement would occur in the future <br /> consistent with the 50 year long-term planning horizon of <br /> the study. <br /> ► Utilizing a portion of the Juniper Decree for an instream <br /> flow by the CWCB for the benefit of the endangered fish <br /> and/or a new instream flow appropriated by the CWCB for <br /> this purpose.
