Last Chance Ditch Company
flow and allov for future upgrades donstream. Costs for this option were
estimated at $68,000.
3. Replace the existing structure with a similar headgate and flumegate.
This alternative is similar to option number tcvo yet it includes an automated
flumegate that would adjust to control the flov in the ditch based on the flows
in the St. Vrain Creek. Additional cost of the flumegate presents an estimated
total cost of $80,500.
4. Replace the existing structure with headgates and an optional
overshot gate for river return flows.
This alternative provides a similar structure vith two headgates to allov for
regular ditch flows. Included is the option for an overshot gate to allov for
water to be released back to the river. In times of low flov the water would be
able to be backed up and allow for more ater to be taken during periods of
low flow in the river. The overshot gate is a more expensive option and the
$36,100 gate could be added at a later date. The infrastructure would be
installed during the headworks replacement to allow for the future addition of
the overshot gate. This alternative has an estimated cost of $81,400 without
the overshot gate and approximately $117,500 with the overshot gate installed.
5. Replace the existing dam and upgrade the structure with options #2 or
#3.
The alternative of replacing and upgrading the existing dam vas also evaluated
on a preliminary basis. This included estimates for costs for evaluating flood
studies and permitting cvith geotechnical analysis for the dam. This additional
item was estimated at $99,000 thus creating total costs of $167,000 and
$179,500 for including options two and three respectively.
Last Chance Ditch Company - Cost Estimate
Alternatives: A rox.
