III. Colorado Wetlands Brochure and Slide Show <br />Kate Jones of the Executive Director's Office of the Colorado <br />Department of Natural Resources has been assigned the production of <br />both the brochure and slide show. During October - December 1992, she <br />gathered information on wetlands from a variety of sources and <br />began locating sources of slides and images that can be used in <br />both the slide show and brochure. The brochure and slide show will <br />be designed as companion pieces. A preliminary outline for both <br />products will be presented to the Wetlands Resource Group on <br />February 1. <br />Both a designer and illustrator have been selected for the <br />brochure. It will be written for an eighth -grade reading level, and <br />its goal will be to present wetlands information in an easily <br />accessible and attractive format for the general public. <br />Both the slide show and the brochure will be produced in time for <br />the wetlands workshops described above. <br />Iv. Mitigation Banking <br />Steve Dougherty and Susan Foster have coordinated a scope of work <br />and contract for developing technical standards for wetland <br />mitigation banking. Review of publications on wetland creation and <br />mitigation banking that will serve as part of the literature review <br />is underway. Steve Dougherty has also obtained agreements from the <br />Colorado Department of Transportation and the U.S. Fish and <br />Wildlife Service for help in reviewing the report. He will seek <br />additional review from the Colorado Department of Natural Resources <br />and EPA. <br />V. Classification /Inventory <br />Teams of scientists from The Nature Conservancy, Colorado Program, <br />completed field work in the White River Basin. Data entry and <br />species identification /verification is underway for the information <br />gathered during the field season. <br />Note: The Conservancy will also conduct field work on the Colorado <br />River under the scope of this grant. <br />
