Emergency Loan Application and Feasibility Study Beeman Irrigating Ditch and Milling Co.
Phase 1— Demolition of the existing, inoperable structures. Reconstruction of the joint
headworks facilities (headwall, headgates, flow measurement, bifurcation structure). Diversion
of the river and reconstruction of the historic island structure. Restoration of the historic flow
pattern and resumption of diversions for irrigation and industrial use.
Phase 2 — Installation of an adjustable height check dam in -place of the current stop log dam at
the small dam. This work could include demolition and reconstruction of the existing small dam
structure, depending on the results of detailed engineering investigation.
Phase 3 — Demolition of a portion of the existing "big dam" structure at the South Platte River.
It is believed that the immovable weir at this location contributed to the flood damage
experienced during the recent event. This portion of the dam would be replaced with a section of
adjustable height check dam. This work could include demolition and reconstruction of the
existing big dam structure, depending on the results of detailed engineering investigation. This
phase may also require other permitting through Weld County Floodplain Management (to be
determined). This phase could potentially be completed in conjunction with Phase 2.
Phase 4 — The west bank of the inlet channel was eroded during the recent flooding and could be
migrating westerly onto the adjoining landowners property. Beeman/MI2 will coordinate with
the landowner to complete a joint bank stabilization project. The scope of this work will depend
on the results of detailed engineering investigation and the joint agreement reached with the
affected landowner.
on Schedule - Beeman
N
Q4 -2013 1 Q1 -2014 I Q2 -2014 1 Q3 -2014 Q4 -2014 J Q1 -2015 [___Q2 -2015 __JI
Cost Estimate
The Project cost estimate, provided by Eckas Water Solutions, is $2,000,000 and is further
broken down as follows:
Task
Cost
Design
$1465810
Permitting
NIA
Construction
$15468,098
Other
N/A
Contingency
$3855092
Total
$25000,000
