4. General location of the project. (Please include county, and approximate distance and direction <br /> from nearest town,as well as legal description, if known. <br /> The Lone Cabin Ditch and Reservoir dam and reservoir is located in Delta County, <br /> approximately 6 miles southeast of Paonia, CO, in Section 13, Township 14 South, Range 91 <br /> West of the 6th P.M. Project location is shown in Figure 1 of attached Feasibility Report <br /> 5. Please provide a brief narrative description of the proposed project including purpose, need, <br /> facilities,type of water uses to be served and service area. Attach separate sheet, if needed. <br /> The slump repair project will repair a small slide,approx. 100 feet by 45 feet and 5 feet deep,on <br /> the downstream side of the dam so that the State Engineer's Office will remove the storage <br /> restriction placed on the reservoir. We need all the storage capacity the reservoir affords as it <br /> provides the irrigation water for 18 farms on Lamborn Mesa, Paonia, CO, and allows for <br /> finishing crops at the end of the growing season. The Lone Cabin system is shown on the <br /> accompanying map showing the service area(Figures 4 and 5). The project involves excavation <br /> of the failed area from crest to toe of dam; installation of a chimney and toe drain; covering the <br /> drain filter material with compacted on-site excavated backfill; and discharging of the toe drain <br /> effluent to Sam's Creek. The cross-section of the proposed repair is presented as Cross-Section <br /> 1 in the geotechnical report. <br /> 6. Will the acquisition of additional water rights be necessary?
