Outdoor Participation Report
Geographically specific data was not available for individual sports; however, the Outdoor
Foundation's participation report presents national -level demographic data for a number of
sports that often form the pillars of reservoir recreation, such as camping, fishing, and paddle
sports. In general, participants in all sports were more likely to be male, and males constituted
over 60% of participants in fishing and canoeing. Participants in paddle sports and camping
tended to be younger than fishing participants, and paddle- sports enthusiasts have higher
household incomes than those of other sports"
