As of the end of October 2012, 99- percent of the drinking water and 100 - percent of the <br />wastewater ARRA funds made available have been paid out to projects under <br />construction. We are currently closing the wastewater ARRA grant. In addition, all Small <br />System Technical and Training ARRA funds have also been paid out. Once the above two <br />projects complete, it is expected that that the DW ARRA grant will be closed before the <br />year end. <br />IV. Update on Set -Aside Programs <br />A. SWAP/Wellhead <br />• Remaining assessment report revisions continue to be assembled. The Division staff has <br />finalized revisions to the Grand Junction report. Longmont, Greeley, Town of Wellington, <br />Four Seasons RV Park, and Lefthand Water District's reports are still in the revision <br />process. <br />• Solicitation of protection planning pilot project grants and protection plan development and <br />implementation grants continue. Discussions and application processing steps are <br />occurring with several prospective applicants. <br />• Work continues with Colorado Rural Water Association (CRWA) and public water systems <br />on developing source water protection plans. CRWA staff received a Water Quality <br />Control Division award recognizing their excellence is source water protection at the <br />annual Western States SWAP Conference in Sun Valley, Idaho in October 2012. <br />• A third statewide pilot project with the Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments in <br />making good progress. The grant for $50,000 was issued from the wellhead protection <br />set -aside and the focus of the protection plan is integrating non -point source and source <br />water protection planning with a specific focus on county land use planning. The group <br />has conducted eight (8) stakeholder meetings to date and the process is moving forward. <br />The public water systems that are involved in this project are: Buena Vista, Poncha <br />Springs, Parkville WD, Canon City, and Florence. <br />The following protection planning grants have been approved and funding has been <br />encumbered during this report period: <br />1.
