Twenty -seven 0 -plus bluegill survived beyond 96 hrs (2.7 percent) after sleeve valve <br />passage and ranged between 0 and 8 fish per trial (figure 27). A total of 13 bluegill were <br />collected in the entrainment nets after the 25 percent open flush where 3 died at 24 hrs (29, 39, <br />and 32 mm) and 9 were still breathing at 72 hrs (34, 36, 28, 32, 32, 29, 28, 28, 30 and 35 mm) <br />but were motionless and laying on their sides and all had internal hemorrhaging. <br />For trial 1, a total of'4 fathead "minnows were found alive immediately after sleeve valve passage <br />where all 6 were collected .in the spillway. Two FHM died at 24 hrs (46 and 50 mm), 1 died at <br />72 hrs (36 mm) and 2 died at 96 hrs (35 and 40 mm). One FHM (38 mm) survived beyond 96 <br />hrs and had bruise mark on its right side but could still swim. <br />For trial 2, a total of 5 fathead minnows were found alive immediately after sleeve valve passage <br />where all 5 were collected in the entrainment nets. One FHM (40 mm) died at 72 hrs and 3 died <br />at 96 hrs (45, 49 and 55 mm). One FHM (47 mm) survived beyond 96 hrs and had a torn left <br />operculum. <br />Page 36 <br />
