PHASE III Tasks Control <br />1. Motorize gate at SPDC company lateral headworks and automate to maintain <br />target discharge across lateral entrance flume <br />2. Develop flow measurement capability for flows in the SPDC main canal <br />passing the company lateral bifurcation. (Both Phase III tasks 1 & 2 will be <br />controlled /monitored by radio /control equipment installed in Phase 11 to <br />monitor flow at the head of the company lateral) <br />3. Install radio unit at the SPDC river diversion structure to enable remote <br />adjustment of overshot gates on the dam and at the canal entrance. <br />4. ** Install radio /control units @ 3`d group of J &E SH sites (5 total) <br />5. Continued development of spreadsheet -based data management tool. <br />6. Organize and host third annual field day <br />7. Prepare Project Final Report <br />8. Review Report and post on USBR Website & provide hard copies to CWCB, <br />CDWR, and LSPWCD. <br />** Indicates optional task that may be substituted for as a part of the annual <br />review process, with substitute tasks provided as approved by the CWCB <br />Staff. <br />Deliverables <br />The Project Final Report will include the following: <br />1. Implementation of each project task will be chronicled, including details of the <br />approach employed, of issues encountered and of actions that were taken in <br />response to the various issues. <br />2. A data base documenting the performance of the various electronic instruments <br />deployed in the project will be compiled as a tool for others to determine what <br />might be appropriate and reliable components for similar systems. <br />3. All control system programming and data management tools developed in a <br />spread -sheet environment will be available from the USBR Hydraulic <br />Investigations and Laboratory Group website. Simplified accessibility will be <br />available via links written into the electronic version of the Project Final Report <br />which will also be available from the same website. <br />4. Interim project reviews, which will be conducted as both Phase I and Phase II <br />tasks are nearing completion will be included in the Appendices of the Final <br />Report <br />5. A pre - project and post - project assessment of capabilities of the participating <br />companies will be compiled to provide a sense of how each entity feels the <br />Project has enhanced operations, and how each entity feels they might move <br />beyond the demonstration scope of this project in the future. <br />Appendix B to Grant Contract No. C150227 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />
