Exhibit A <br />Statement of Work <br />WATER ACTIVITY NAME — Sanchez Reservoir Outlet Rehabilitation Project <br />GRANT RECIPIENT — Sanchez Ditch and Reservoir Company <br />FUNDING SOURCE — Rio Grande Basin Roundtable, Water Supply Reserve Account (WSRA) (45 %) and CWCB Water <br />Project Loan Program (55 %) <br />INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND <br />The Sanchez Ditch and Reservoir Company was approved for a WSRA grant to finance the Sanchez Reservoir Outlet <br />Rehabilitation Project. The Company provides irrigation water for users in Costilla County. The Company's primary <br />storage reservoir is Sanchez Reservoir. The approximately 104,000 acre -foot reservoir was built in 1910. The reservoir's <br />outlet includes a 135 foot tall concrete gate tower. In order to access the gates to operate the dam, a tramway /gondola runs <br />along a cable and is powered by a portable gasoline generator. Because daily access to the tower is required during <br />irrigation season, the reliability and safety of the gondola system has been a concern of the Company. Additionally the <br />reservoir has seepage issues that need to be addressed. <br />OBJECTIVE <br />The purpose of the project is to make safety and operational improvements to the outlet works at Sanchez Reservoir. <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />Task 1— Final Eneineerine <br />This task includes all final design by the engineer for the outlet tower and seepage control system. <br />Method/Procedure <br />Construction methods and procedures shall be in accordance with the final signed and sealed engineering project <br />plans and specifications. All operations shall be performed following OSHA and all other local, State and Federal <br />laws and regulations. <br />Deliverable <br />Signed and dated paper and electronic copies of drawings prepared by engineer of record on 11" x 17" sheet size. <br />Task 2 — Tower Demolition <br />This task includes all work required to remove the upper portion of the concrete tower, including: mobilization of <br />equipment to the site, saw cutting the tower to facilitate toppling of the tower into the reservoir, construction of a cofferdam <br />to control the water lever around the worksite, silt removal with a vacuum truck, construction of a temporary access road to <br />the tower base, and blasting of the tower. <br />Method/Procedure <br />Construction methods and procedures shall be in accordance with the final signed and sealed engineering project <br />plans and specifications. All operations shall be performed following OSHA and all other local, State and Federal <br />laws and regulations. <br />Deliverable <br />The removal of the portion of the concrete tower above approximately elevation 8330 feet. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
