Explore the incredible Missouri River and learn about critical <br />Missouri River issues including bank stabilization, fishing, <br />recreation, water use and management, endangered species, <br />natural resources, and water quality. This expedition begins <br />in Bismarck, and includes visits to agriculture, recreation <br />and wildlife sites in the Bismarck area, the Lewis and Clark <br />Interpretive Center, Garrison Dam, Fish Hatchery, Sakakawea <br />State Park and more, while traveling the Lewis and Clark trail via <br />motorized coach. This tour starts in Bismarck and ends the day on <br />the mighty Missouri aboard the Lewis and Clark Riverboat. <br />Since 1993, Devils Lake has caused more than $450 million in <br />damage to homes, land, and infrastructure. Even as the Devils <br />Lake outlet nears completion, it remains a critical and controversial <br />component of the state's three- pronged approach to flood relief for <br />the Devils Lake area, which also includes upper basin storage and <br />infrastructure protection. The tour focuses on numerous water - related <br />issues including wetlands, fish and wildlife, water quality, agriculture, <br />recreation, infrastructure, and economics.
