<br />CML COMMITTEES
<br />CML has a number of committees which
<br />meet periodically on important topics
<br />and issues of interest to municipal offi-
<br />cials. Below is a listing and description
<br />of each, together with the committee
<br />chair and staff contacts (the first staff
<br />name is the lead contact).
<br />Additional committees may be formed
<br />or reactivated during the year as needed.
<br />Service on these committees is open to
<br />all elected and appointed officials and
<br />staffs of CML member cities and towns.
<br />Individuals who would like to serve on a
<br />committee should contact Barb Major.
<br />A description of each committee with
<br />staff contacts follows. The first staff
<br />name is the lead contact person.
<br />The Policy Committee meets two or
<br />three times a year to review recommen-
<br />dations of the standing committees, to
<br />screen other legislative proposals and
<br />recommend adjustment of an annual
<br />general policy statement.

<br />The Electric and Gas Utilities
<br />Committee will continue to address
<br />model franchising issues and also
<br />possibly other legislative issues related
<br />to electric and gas utilities.

<br />The General Municipal Issues
<br />Committee examines miscellaneous
<br />legislation and other issues that affect
<br />municipal operations.

<br />The Sales Tax Simplification
<br />Committee examines sales and use tax
<br />issues, including tax - simplification
<br />issues that affect home rule municipali-
<br />ties that collect sales taxes locally, and
<br />taxation of remote sales.

<br />The TABOR Amendment Technical
<br />Committee monitors and develops pol-
<br />icy on TABOR implementation issues,
<br />including litigation, legislation, legal
<br />interpretations, operational issues and
<br />local government implementation prac-
<br />tices.

<br />The Tax Policy Committee examines
<br />state and municipal tax policy issues and
<br />make recommendations on possible state
<br />constitutional and other policy changes
