14 <br />Colorado Water Resources Research Institute <br />2006 CWRRI Water Fellowship Program <br />Guidelines For Preparation Of 2006 Applications <br />Applications should be prepared by the graduate student, under the direction of his /her re- <br />search advisor. The application should contain the following: <br />1. Cover Page with scholar's name, name of degree, program, institution, contact information for <br />scholar, contact information for advisor. <br />2. Title of the thesis project. <br />3. Introduction of the applicant: major, research specialization, research advisor, post-secondary <br />education, progress in degree program (courses completed, candidacy or comprehensive exams, <br />anticipated completion date), progress in thesis research, previous professional and scholastic <br />accomplishments (presentations, publications, awards). <br />4. Description of the critical state or regional water problem being (or to be) investigated and rela- <br />tionship to CWRRI ACWRP priorities. <br />5. Key literature and prior work in your research group (if applicable). <br />6. Scope and objectives of the proposed research. <br />7. Methods, procedures, and facilities. <br />8. Anticipated results and benefits from the proposed study ( "deliverables" including proposals to <br />seek additional support for the research). <br />9. If research is underway, progress to date. <br />10. Completed Budget /Justification form (available on line or from Gloria at (970- 491 -6308) which <br />details how the 2 to 1 non - Federal to Federal match will be covered. The form suggests various <br />categories of expenses which are justifiable as matching funds. <br />The application, prepared in a single spaced, 11 -12 point format, should not exceed seven pages (not <br />including the cover page and budget /justification page). Append graduate transcripts (or under- <br />graduate transcripts for a new graduate student). Graduate transcripts should be complete through <br />spring or (if applicable) summer of 2005 (the original grade report sent to the student is acceptable). <br />The deadline for receipt of fellowship applications is 5:00 p.m., November 1, 2005. <br />Submit the application to: <br />Gloria Blumanhourst <br />Colorado Water Resources Research Institute <br />E -102 Engineering Building <br />Colorado State University <br />Fort Collins, CO 80523 <br />or as an e -mail attachment in Word for Windows format to: <br />Gloria .Blumanhourst@Colostate.edu <br />Portions of the successful fellowship applications will be included as part of the Institute's FY2005 pro- <br />posal to the USGS. Suggestions for improvement or clarification of points in the text may be forthcom- <br />ing from the CWRRI Advisory Committee on Water Research Policy and /or CWRRI director. <br />
