A S S 0 C I A T E S <br />EXHIBIT "A" TO <br />LETTER AGREEMENT BETWEEN CLIENT AND OLSSON, DATED February 18, 2010 <br />DESCRIPTION OF BASIC PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br />This is an exhibit attached to and made a part of and attached to the Letter Agreement for <br />Professional Services dated February 18, 2010, ( "Agreement ") between The Nebraska <br />Community Foundation of Lincoln, Nebraska ( "Client "), representing all signatories to the Platte <br />River Recovery Implementation Program, and Olsson Associates ( "Olsson ") providing for <br />as indicated below. <br />GENERAL <br />Olsson shall perform for Client professional services in all phases of the Project to which this <br />Agreement applies in accordance with the Agreement and as hereinafter provided. These <br />services will include serving as Client's professional representative for the Project, providing <br />professional consultation and advice and furnishing customary services incidental thereto. <br />These services build on the prior work summarized in the "CNPPID Reregulating Reservoir, <br />Elwood and J -2 Alternatives Analysis Project Report" (Phase I study) completed by Olsson. <br />PART 1 - J -2 Return Reservoir Alternative Field Investigation BASIC SERVICES <br />1.01 Land Survey <br />A. LiDAR spot elevation data will be provided to Olsson by the Client. Olsson shall utilize <br />the LiDAR data to update the ground surface elevations and contours through the J -2 <br />Return Alternative 2, Areas 1 and 2. Olsson shall compare the LiDAR elevations to the <br />ground survey data collected in items B and C below to evaluate the vertical accuracy of <br />the data. <br />B. Seven cross sections will be collected between Phelps Canal flume and the proposed <br />Area 1 intake structure to be used in the future phase for Phelps Canal capacity <br />analysis. The cross sections will be recorded relative to state plane coordinates and <br />NAVD 88 vertical datum. <br />C. Section corners will be researched and found in the field for the set corners near J -2 <br />Return Alt 2 Area 1 and 2. The section corners will aid in the development of landrights <br />during future phases. <br />1.02 Geotechnical Investigation <br />A. A geotechnical field investigation will be performed in order to identify subsurface <br />conditions and collect samples for laboratory analysis to assist in the future design <br />phase for J -2 Alternative 2 Areas 1 and /or 2. The intent is to collect samples and drill <br />borings while the crop ground is still frozen to minimize damage to the ground and <br />interference with spring planting. The laboratory work will be conducted and the results <br />recorded however the geotechnical analysis will be conducted in future phases. <br />Page 1 <br />
