CORE is requesting$5,400 to research and prepare meeting presentations and draft a <br /> Memorandum of Understanding(MOU)to be signed by five stakeholders in the watershed. CORE will <br /> also convene meetings with municipal staff and elected officials to solicit regional support over the three <br /> month project period. The stakeholders include the City of Aspen,the Town of Basalt,the Town of <br /> Carbondale,the City of Glenwood Springs and Snowmass Water and Sanitation District. <br /> The ultimate goal of the project is to create a regional plan that identifies water efficient practices that can <br /> be applied consistently across the watershed while addressing the needs of each entity. The City of Aspen <br /> and Glenwood Springs are covered entities. Glenwood Springs already has a Plan on file with the CWCB <br /> (November 2009),while the City of Aspen is in the process of developing a Plan. Both entities will be <br /> asked to include their plans as elements of the Roaring Fork Watershed Regional Plan. <br /> The total project cost is $7,225 CORE has pledged 25%matching funds in the form of in-kind services <br /> totaling$1,825. The OWCDP staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined <br /> that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
