• Development of Agreement with NPPD similar to that developed for CPNRD and CNPPID to define roles <br />and expectations for water alternative projects associated with Gothenburg, Dawson County, and Kearney <br />Canals. Agreement brought before FC with subsequent clarifying revisions made. <br />• Completed field investigations of permeability at potential groundwater recharge sites associated with <br />Dawson County and Phelps Canals. <br />• Input received from WAC on Water Management Incentives resulting in continuing revisions to approach. <br />• Draft report of pre - feasibility investigation of ground water recharge opportunities under Gothenberg, <br />Dawson County and Phelps Canals distributed to ground water work group. <br />• Coordination with CPNRD's Olsson Associates study team for Elm Creek reservoir for hydrologic <br />/operational analyses. <br />• Updated hydrologic condition report. <br />• Attendance and participation in WAC meeting May 11 in Ogallala, NE. <br />Adaptive Management Plan Implementation <br />• Oversight and coordination of geomorphology and in- channel vegetation monitoring and water quality <br />monitoring efforts. <br />• Oversight and coordination of tern and plover forage habits, whooping crane monitoring, and sediment <br />augmentation studies. <br />• Maintenance efforts to sustain functionality of remote video equipment for monitoring of tern & plover nesting <br />sites at Elm Creek. <br />• Continued effort toward development of Mock Report. <br />• Advancement of white paper for Governance Committee defining state of knowledge from Program activities <br />related to Pallid Sturgeon, options for moving forward, and risks associated with options. <br />• On -going effort in advancing experimental design criteria and development of specific site design layouts <br />plans at Cottonwood Ranch, Elm Creek, and Ft. Kearny Complexes and Overton, Uridil, Dipel, and Mormon <br />Island locations. <br />• Permit development and submittal to COE for in- channel and sediment augmentation activities that are <br />anticipated over next year. <br />• Extensive effort for implementation of Tern & Plover monitoring and pilot habitat selection protocols. <br />• Considerable effort expended in addressing concerns associated with the monitoring and research protocols <br />associated with Terns and Plovers. Involved preparation and presentation of two in field demonstrations, <br />one by Program staff and one by USGS staff, several conference calls with various parties involved, and in <br />general significant staff time. Issue resolved with minimal changes to protocols. <br />• Continued oversight of Phase II of Database Management System Development, including further testing of <br />full launch of the website and population of document libraries and test databases. Training for Program staff <br />completed at Denver and Kearney offices. <br />• Selection of Off - Channel Sand and Water /Flow Consolidation and Wet Meadow contractors developed as <br />part of IMRP effort. <br />• Development of contract agreements for 1 D Model, 1 D Model Peer Review, Off - Channel Sand and <br />Water /Flow Consolidation , Directed Vegetation Research, and Wet Meadows Information tasks. Execution <br />of contracts in various stages of completion. <br />• Attendance and participation in TAC meeting May 6 in Kearney, NE. <br />Outreach and Operations <br />Routine daily operations associated with management and support of EDO staff, acquisition of supplies and <br />equipment, oversight of consultant and contractor contracts and payment, coordination of meeting logistics, <br />and general administration of Program. <br />Draft of standardized contract for Program presented to FC for comments, implemented in present form on <br />projects that are moving forward. <br />Attendance at UN -L Water for Food Conference in Lincoln, Nebraska May 2 -5, including Poster exhibit on <br />Program highlighting water activities. Poster awarded Outstanding Poster status. <br />2 <br />
