Other reports rank cities and towns based on their demographic profile. <br />The information is published on the agency's Web site www.dola.state.co.us. <br />Among the findings: <br />• The Southeast lagged way behind the growth rate of other state regions in the past decade, <br />growing by roughly 15 percent compared to the statewide average of 30 percent. <br />Population growth by region: <br />Central mountains, 41.7 percent; Western Slope, 38.3 percent; Fort Collins, 35.1 percent; Denver <br />Metro, 30.4 percent; Colorado Springs, 30.2 percent; Pueblo, 15 percent; San Luis Valley, 14.9 <br />percent; and Southeastern Plains, 7.5 percent. <br />• If it ever becomes incorporated, Pueblo West with a population of 16,889 would rank as the <br />second largest c tv in the southern =art of tha state, behind only neighboring Pueblo and ahead <br />of Canon City. <br />1 of 2 10/31/01 3:30 PM <br />
