Dr. Groat received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology (1962) from the University of <br />Rochester, a Master of Science in Geology (1967) from the University of Massachusetts, and a <br />Ph.D. in Geology (1970) from the University of Texas at Austin. <br />David Furukawa <br />Professional Engineer, Separation Consultants, Inc., Poway, CA <br />Mr. Furukawa has more than 40 years of experience in desalination technology. He is President <br />of Separation Consultants, Inc., a private consulting company specializing in desalination. He is <br />the Research Advisory Board Chairman, National Water Research Institute, and Vice - Moderator <br />of the Research Advisory Council, Middle East Desalination Research Centre. Mr. Furukawa <br />has served as President and Director of both the International Desalination Association and <br />American Desalting Association (now AMTA). <br />Kevin Price <br />Manager, Water Treatment Engineering and Research Group <br />U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Denver, CO <br />Kevin Price is Manager of the Water Treatment Engineering and Research Group in the U.S. <br />Bureau of Reclamation in Denver, Colorado. He oversees the Desalination and Water <br />Purification Research and Development Program, Advanced Water Treatment Research <br />Program, and the Water Reuse Research Program. He holds a B.S. degree in Zoology from <br />Albertson College of Idaho, an M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University <br />in New York, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Denver. He has worked the past <br />21 years for Reclamation. <br />Mr. Price is a co- leader of the Desalination and Water Purification Technology Roadmap, a <br />member of the WateReuse Foundation's Research Advisory Council, the U.S. Country Technical <br />Representative (through the U.S. Department of State) to the Middle East Desalination Research <br />Center, member of the AWWA Membrane Technology and Desalting Committees, member of <br />the American Membrane Technology Association's board, and member -elect of the International <br />Desalination Association's board. He is co- director of the National Centers for Water . <br />Treatment Technologies and Reclamation's representative on the Reclamation, Reuse, and <br />Recycling Research Task Force with the National Water Research Institute, Water Environment <br />Research Foundation, WateReuse Foundation, and the American Water Works Research <br />Foundation. <br />Patrick Tyrrell <br />Wyoming State Engineer, Cheyenne, WY <br />Mr. Tyrrell is a Wyoming native who has served as Wyoming State Engineer since 2001. His, <br />experience had been entirely within the private sector until taking the appointment as State. <br />Engineer. He served as Engineering Manager for States West Water Resources.Corpoxation in <br />Cheyenne, WY from 1995 to 2000. Prior to that he worked as, Regulatory Affairs Supervisor for <br />Thunder Basin Coal Company in Wright, WY. From 1989 -1991 he worked as a water resources <br />consultant in Minnesota. <br />
