Arkansas Valley Conduit Advisory Committee Meeting <br />April 7, 2006 <br />Page 2 <br />LETTER OF INTENT <br />Chairman Long noted that the suggested letter of intent had been distributed and asked <br />for any questions or concerns. He noted that each and every participant needed to have <br />this letter on their own letterhead, signed and returned to the District before June 1. He <br />also noted that the earlier the letters are returned the better. It is vital to the process that <br />these letters get to the Colorado Federal Congressional delegation before July 1, 2006. <br />FINANCIAL UPDATE <br />Mr. Reynolds handed out the latest financial statements. He then explained the two most <br />recent billings and why there were two back to back. The first one was for the operating <br />account and the second invoice was to cover the participants $50,000 for the <br />Investigation Study. Once all receipts have been posted, there shouldbe money in the <br />operating account for several months of billings. <br />LEGISLATIVE UPDATE <br />Mr. Kogovsek reported that he and several District Board members had been in <br />Washington D.C. this week for the National Water Resources Assn. conference. While <br />they were there they visited with the 061brado Delegation I on PSOP and the Arkansas <br />Valley Conduit. He noted that congress 7s m-re.cess until April`24 and that no progress <br />had been made on either bill. However, he also noted that the delegation is ready to <br />move once the letters of sunport are received. , <br />OTHER INFORMATION <br />Doris Morgan noted ;Senator llard will be touring the Lower Arkansas Valley on <br />April 18 and recommender that a1yope- that could should attend the meetings and <br />mention their-gu.DDort of the cinduit. <br />NEXT`ETIN G <br />Chairman-t- I g announced4 = at the advisory committee will be going to Denver for the <br />rescheduled if ee ings with WCB, State Health. Department, and State legislators on <br />April 18.
