WILDLIFE 2002 <br />DKAFT <br />OF ARTICLE-2,31-2-1 <br />GOAL: General assembly revision of Article 2, 33-2-105 for the purpose of <br />providing direction toward accomplishment of the folio_ wing objtctives: <br />URIECTME 1: The Colorado Watcr Conservation (CWCB) and the Division of Wildlife <br />(DOW) will cooperatively develop -by 1995 a statewide in <br />0. <br />cooperation with other water and wildlife interests,; which will assure <br />management of wildlife resources so as to preclude the requirement of <br />threatened; or endangered listing at the federal level.;, This progiam will <br />include construction .of a native species facility which_ w11- rear '.,7 ed uatic <br />wildlife species in danger of decline. This facility will be jointki <br />and operated by CWCB and/the DOW. <br />QBMC—= 2: sting endangered wildlife species by the year 2005 tv a level <br />that assures long-term survival over a reasonable portion of their historic <br />range. <br />OBMC_TIVE 3: Establish a sons category in addition to the current threateaed and <br />endangered, categories. This category will include these species where <br />populations have not yet reached a level that warrant threatened, or, <br />endangered listing.-The DOW will place special emphasis on ,fissuring <br />these species are managed in a manner to assure survival wit tout the <br />requirement of federal listing. <br />2 <br />
