Although the above actions are promoting the recovery of
endangered fishes, and Reclamation's participation in the Upper
Colorado RIP is intended to offset depletion impacts, the
designation of critical habitat and other new information
warrants a re- evaluation of Reclamation projects for Endangered
Species Act compliance. We request the Service's assistance in
determining the need for consultation on the effects of the CBT
and Fry -Ark Projects on the designated critical habitat for the
four Colorado River endangered species and the razorback sucker.
We look forward to receiving your comments regarding Endangered
Species Act compliance on Reclamation projects. Please contact
me at your earliest convenience with the dates you will be
available to attend a meeting.
cc: Regional Director
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 2
P.O.
