Released water flows into the
Encampment River, a tributary of the North Platte River. The
existing transbasin diversion tunnel (constructed in the
1960's by the CBPU as part of Stage I) would be paved, and a
pipeline built from the east portal of the tunnel to the
reservoir. The proposed construction would yield an estimated
10,750 additional acre feet of water per year under the
Decision. Hog Park Reservoir would be enlarged to accommodate
the additional 10,750 acre feet by raising the water level 53
feet, i.e.: from 8,402 to 8,455 feet above sea level, to
increase its capacity al.ost 10 fold.
(c) The Forest Service would also authorize the
enlargement of the CBPU Rob Roy Reservoir, from a storage
caoacity of 8,895 acre feet to 35,433 acre feet including (a)
enlargement of the dam e:bank ent, (b) construction of a
spillwav, and (c) conversion of the old spillway- outlet works
'Co air outlet works only, and access roads necessary for this
construction. The enlarged Rob Roy Reservoir would store the
additional water to be diverted from Douglas Creek.
13. The purpose of the Stage II transbasin diversion is
to collect and divert water from the Colorado River Basin to
the North Platte River Basin as replacement water for water
the CBPU takes out of the North Platte River, but for which it
?
