Y, <br />the Little Snake River (hereafter "North Fork ") . To the <br />extent the watc2r is diverted from ,north Fork and, therefore, <br />from the Colorado River Basin it is submitted those uses <br />viola--e the ;;poer Colorado River Compact. Stage I water <br />diversion structures and access roads are on lands within the <br />Medicine Bow National Forest. <br />11. The CBPU applied to the Forest Service for <br />additional authorizations to allow expansion of its diversion <br />facilities with the Medicine Bow National Forest (the Stage II <br />Project). The CBPU proposes to finance two- thirds of the <br />$60,000,000 estimated cost of the Stage II project from funds <br />to be borrowed from the State of Wyo:aing, acting through its <br />State Farm Loan Board and one -third by means of a grant from <br />the State of :tvomina . <br />12. If issued, the Stage II occupancy documents would <br />authorize the CBPU to construct additional transbasin water <br />diversions from. the Little Snake River Drainage in the Sierra <br />M adre Mountains in the Medicine Bova National Forest and within <br />Colorado _� ver Basin east to the I:orth Platte River Basin. <br />(a) The project will include construction of water <br />collection and diversion structures on the stream beds of the <br />under tribszaries of the _north Fork of the Little Snake River <br />on Slope of the Continental Divide all within the <br />Medicine 3:; :a National Forest in the Sierra .Madre Mountains. <br />.rater wo.:l4 be collected and diverted from numerous tributary <br />streams which are along the very few remaining habitats of the <br />sensitive Colorado cutthroat trout, and from the West Branch <br />of the Nor_.
